Registration is now open for the ECOCINE 2015 – WATER & HEALTH – ENVIRONMENTAL AND HUMAN RIGHTS INTERNATIONAL CINEMA FESTIVAL.
This year ECOCINE will be held in partnership with the Vatavaran Environmental and Wildlife Film Festival of India. The submitted films may also be selected for the Indian festival.
ECOCINE was created in 1992 with the World Conference in Rio de Janeiro (ECO 92). The ECOCINE is the first environmental film festival in Brazil and since 2005 also adds works that address issues related to human rights. In this edition, the festival includes the reflection of actions and questioning of the UN World Water Decade, which ends this year.
The event will gather from October, 15 to 24 a series of actions for all ages. In addition to the International Competitive film show, we will have sessions for children (CriancEco), expotions, cultural performances of traditional populations (indigenous), workshops and lectures.
There will be also the combination with the National Week of Science and Technology (Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation), which this year are focused primarily on energy, because 2015 is the INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF LIGHT. This partnership will expand the opportunity for the participation of schools and groups interested in the various events.
In 2015 the ECOCINE will be held in the cities of Paraty, Campinas and São Paulo.
University of Campinas and the Memorial of Latin America in São Paulo, are our partners and will receive special programs.
