SHOP FOR AN ORGANIC LIFESTYLE
The 8th CMS VATAVARAN featured a Green Haat.The unique display and sale of eco products from across the country in the Green Haat provided a platform to the local craftsmen and social entrepreneurs to showcase their locally produced artifacts and organic food item and oils.
The Green Haat was a marketplace for forest handicrafts, accessories, herbal and medicinal products and forest based organic food items. An exhibition cum sale of forest based products both agro processed and crafts provided inimitable shopping experience for five days.
The Organic Green Haat in the festival raised awareness about Green and Organic products in the country among the urban population and helped them rediscover the “connect” with nature.
It was organised in collaboration with Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change (MoEFCC), Global Environment Facility (GEF), UNDP and SGP & CEE.
Environment based NGO’s from more than 8 states set up shop at the Green Haat offering a diverse range of products ranging from handicrafts to accessories to food items to beauty products etc. Prices of food and products were sold in the range of Rs.20- Rs 5,000.
