Selection of Nominated and Award winning films of CMS VATAVARAN to be screened at Mumbai International Film Festival 2016
The 14th edition of MIFF 2016 will feature a retrospective of CMS VATAVARAN International Environment & Wildlife Film Festival. The Retrospective & Special Package will include 12 nominated and award winning films from 7th and 8th editions of CMS VATAVARAN. The films that are being shown are My Disappearing Land; Behind the Mist; Take Me To The River; Basura o Recurso? Experiencia de la Republica Dominicana (Garbage or Resource? A Dominican Republic Experience); Le Jardin d’Ewald; How Can Conserving Mangroves Tide Over Climate Change; Walking in Two Worlds; Redemption : A REDD+ Story From India; Saving the Ganga; Worse Than Poop!; Angioplasty of Streams and Swachh Gaon Swasth Gaon. http://miff.in/.
The film festival will be held from January 28th to February 3rd, 2016.
MIFF is one of the most prestigious festival in the documentary, short and animation genre and is at par with International Film Festivals like Leipzig, Berlin, Oberhausen, Cracow and Tampere etc. Apart from the Competition Section, MIFF also holds Homage; Retrospective & Special Package; Open Forum & Seminars; Workshops and Master Classes.
The first ever International Film Festival for Documentary, Short and Animation Films was held in the year 1990. The biennial festival is conducted with the active collaboration of Government of Maharashtra and the Indian Documentary Producers’ Association. The city of Mumbai is the permanent venue of the festival.
