Co-host: GIZ – Inclusive Cities Partnership Programme
GIZ – Inclusive Cities Partnership Programme co-hosted a Roundtable Discussion on reviving local water bodies on October 10th, the second day of CMS VATAVARAN 2015. The discussion was organized with a view to bring attention on the neglected state of water bodies such as lakes and tanks in our cities and the need to revive them. The session facilitated sharing of personal experiences by the key speakers on restoration of water bodies and the state of affairs in their cities and enabled sharing of ways to deal with the challenges in conservation. The discussion was preceded by a visit to a dry pond near Munirka Sports Complex for demonstrating the impact of unplanned and improper urban development.
