The eminent panelists of the seminar included Mr Sharad Lele, Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment; Mr Dipankar Saha, Central Groundwater Board; Mr Shilp Verma, International Water Management Institute; Jagdeesh Rao, Foundation for Ecological Security.

In this session, groundwater was discussed in two aspects – the physical nature of water and hydrology and the social arrangements to manage it. Discussions centred on issues such as prevalence of bore-wells, concept of common pool community resource versus private ownership, agricultural practices, policies for management of groundwater and the water quality. The panel discussion was co-hosted with Arghyam.
